Effective 14 September 2026 · Applies to the MummaNest app for iOS and Android
The short version
By ticking the box and signing in, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
MummaNest is for adults. It offers support, not medical care.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members. We remove that content and eject the people who post it.
You can hide or report any post, reply or message, and block any member. We review every report and block within 24 hours. To reach us, use Safety & contact in The Village menu or email the address in Contact.
You own what you post, and you can delete your account at any time.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the MummaNest team, who build and operate the MummaNest app from India ("MummaNest", "we", "us"). They are the end user licence agreement for the app.
Before you can sign in with Google or Apple, the app asks you to tick I agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By ticking that box and signing in, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use MummaNest.
Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms. See App store terms.
2. Who can use MummaNest
Adults only. You must be at least 18 years old.
One account per person. Do not share your account, use someone else's, or create a new account after we have banned you.
Accurate information. Give true information about yourself and keep it up to date.
Keep it secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
3. Not medical advice
MummaNest, including Anna, offers support and general information, not medical, mental-health or legal advice. It does not replace your doctor, midwife or other health professional. Please do not delay or ignore professional advice because of something you read in the app. Anna is an AI and may be wrong, and other members share personal experience, not professional advice. If you or your baby face an emergency, or you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services (112 in India) or a helpline right away.
4. Community rules: zero tolerance
There is no tolerance on MummaNest for objectionable content or abusive users. If you post objectionable content or abuse other members, we will remove the content and may suspend or permanently ban your account.
You must not post, send or share anything, in The Village, in private messages, in connection notes, in your profile or with Anna, that:
harasses, bullies, intimidates or threatens anyone;
is hate speech, or attacks people for their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar characteristic;
is sexual or sexually explicit;
sexualises, exploits or endangers children in any way;
shows, promotes or threatens violence;
encourages or glorifies self-harm or suicide;
spreads dangerous medical misinformation, or offers to sell or supply medicines, drugs or treatments;
is spam, a scam, or advertising or promotion of any kind;
impersonates another person, a health professional or MummaNest;
shares someone else's private information, such as their phone number, address, photos or health details, without their permission;
is illegal, or promotes illegal activity.
You must also not try to get around our safety checks, blocks or bans, misuse the report button, or interfere with the app or other members' use of it.
What happens if you break these rules. At our discretion and without prior notice, we may remove your content, limit what you can do, suspend your account, or ban you permanently. A banned member can no longer post, reply, message or connect, and their community content is removed. We may report illegal content, and anything that puts a child or anyone else at risk, to the police or other authorities, and share relevant information with them as the law allows.
5. Content filtering, reporting and blocking
Automated filtering. Before a Village post or reply, a private message or a connection note is published or delivered, its text is automatically checked for safety by our AI provider, OpenAI. Posts flagged as possibly unsafe are held and not shown to other members. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what is sent.
Human review. Our moderation team reviews reported content and blocks inside the app.
Hiding. You can remove any Village thread or reply from your own feed immediately with Hide in its ⋮ menu, and delete your own posts and replies at any time.
Reporting. You can report any Village thread, reply or private message, choosing harassment, spam, inappropriate or other as the reason.
Blocking. You can block any member from a Village thread or reply, a private conversation, or your connections list. Their posts, replies and conversation are hidden from you instantly, any connection between you ends, and we are notified so we can review it. The member you block is not told.
Within 24 hours. We review every report and block within 24 hours. If the content breaks these Terms, we remove it and eject the member who posted it by suspending or banning their account.
Reporting is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
6. Your content
You own it. Posts, replies, messages and anything else you add to MummaNest remain yours.
Our licence to use it. You give MummaNest a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display your content within the app, only as needed to provide the service, including safety screening and moderation. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except that Village posts are kept in anonymised form after you delete your account, as our Privacy Policy describes.
You are responsible for it. Only share content you have the right to share, and that follows these Terms.
Anonymous posts follow the same rules. Posting anonymously hides your name from other members, but not from us. Our moderation team can identify the author of any reported content, and every rule in these Terms still applies to you.
Other members' content. Content posted by members reflects their own views. We do not endorse it, and we may remove any content that breaks these Terms or the law.
7. AI features
Anna's replies and suggested follow-up questions are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, so please do not rely on them for decisions about your health or your baby's health.
Anna is available only after you agree on the Anna screen in the app. Your messages, and the other information described in our Privacy Policy, are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, to produce her replies.
Automated safety screening can make mistakes. It may hold content that is fine or miss content that is not, which is why you can always report and block.
Do not use Anna to create content that breaks these Terms.
8. Your account
Leaving. You can delete your account at any time in My MummaNest → Delete my account. Deletion completes after a 30-day grace period you can cancel.
Suspension and termination. We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict features, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of members.
Changes to the app. We may change, pause or stop any part of MummaNest.
Sections 6, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply after your account ends, where relevant.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
As is. MummaNest is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Members' content and conduct. We are not responsible for what members post or send, or for how they behave, in the app or offline. If you choose to meet someone you connected with through MummaNest, please take sensible precautions.
Limits. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of MummaNest. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Your responsibility. To the extent the law allows, you agree to compensate us for claims and losses that arise from content you post or your breach of these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right or liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
10. App store terms
If you downloaded MummaNest from Apple's App Store:
These Terms are between you and MummaNest only, not Apple. MummaNest, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
Your licence is limited to using the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
MummaNest, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, MummaNest, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data agreement and the terms of your Google or Apple sign-in.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
If you downloaded MummaNest from Google Play, Google is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to support the app, and Google Play's own terms also apply to your download.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. For significant changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect, and we may ask you to agree again. If you keep using MummaNest after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to them or to MummaNest is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours if MummaNest moves to another organisation, as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Contact
Questions or complaints about these Terms, or about content in the app: saranmonalisha@gmail.com, or open a ticket in the app under Help & support. To flag a specific post, reply or message, please use the report option on it in the app.
